X-Men: Days of Future Past (12A)

The X Men are back in a time travel tale that manages to combine the original roster of actors - Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page etc to the younger incarnations seen in X Men First Class - James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence etc. Already stuffed to the gills with great actors, 'X Men:Days of Future Past' adds the fab Peter Dinklage to the mix that means stars like Halle Berry are virtually extras and original Rogue(Anna Paquin) got cut out entirely - although she does have a 5 second or so cameo now.
There is also a lot of fun with the addition of Quicksilver played by Evan Peters, whose speedy antics are quite entertaining - if over in a flash! It is all good fast moving fun, but there is a lot of plot and a lot of characters to juggle. I've never been the biggest X Men fan to be honest but Lawrence, Fassbender and co drew me back and the film doesn't disappoint. However, it lacks the wit and verve of the Iron Man films or the more interesting plot of the most recent Captain America movie. Pretty entertaining though.
