Gabrielle is kidnapped, Xena is blinded, but does she give up? Not on your nelly! The episode opens with Gabrielle out shopping. Not really Xena`s scene, however when Xena goes looking for her friend, she meets Palaemon(Jeremy Callaghan) who says he has killed Gabrielle! In the fight that follows, Xena is squirted in the eyes with sumac oil - an oil that will cuse her eventual blindness unless she finds the right treatment. However, Xena is not prepared to leave Gabrielle - she has ascertained that Gabrielle has actually been kidnapped. Chaining herself to Palaemon, the increasingly blind Xena tfollow Gabrielle to the palace where a corrupt courtier is marrying her off to an already dead king in the hope of gaining the throne himself. Gabrielle is stuck in the palace with a style guru named Vidalis(Sydney Jackson), trying to teach her how to behave like a lady, in some very funny scenes. Gabrielle`s is forced into the wedding, but the baddie, Apex (Chris Bailey) plans a quick cremation for the dead king and his new bride...can Xena arrive in time to save her? And what about Xena`e eyesight!

A comedic episode for Gabrielle - sort of, but poor old Xena has a tough time what with being blinded and having ANOTHER young warrior out to kill her. Gabrielle needs saving once again but as usual with director Josh Becker, there are a few laughs.

Notes:
Watch out for Xena`s entrance into the castle. While Lucy does a good job of acting blind on the whole, she ducks her shoulder so her sword won`t get caught! After Xena fights her way to Gabrielle, we have a nice touching reunion scene...ah! Just after that, the baddie Apex tells Vidalis to get out of his was and says, "you fishcake", although you can quite clearly see that the actor actually said, "you fruitcake". Changed probably because Vidalis is rather obviously gay. His admiration of Palaemon is refeshingly unusual to see!

Disclaimer :-
Once again Gabrielle`s luck with men was harmed during the production of this motion picture.
