Name: Bruce Campbell
Birth Place: Michigan, USA
Marital Status: Married

Biography

A long time collaborator with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell is probably best known for the Evil Dead movies. He has also appeared in a lot of tv series and second rate tv movies over the years. Bruce first worked on Hercules, where he was a big hit as Autolycus the super suave King of Thieves. However, despite being a thief, Autolycus is a good hearted man, and rarely seems to make much profit from his work! Handsome, witty and not afraid of Xena, Autolycus always livens up an episode. Bruce Campbell is a master of the one liners.

Autolycus first appeared in XENA in the episode, The Royal Couple of Thieves, and became one of the few people to get the better of Xena - even thought it was only for a while! When Lucy Lawless broke her pelvis in 1989, Bruce was called in to play Autolycus possessed by Xena`s spirit in The Quest, and has appeared in quite a few other XENA episodes.

Bruce has also directed quite a few episodes of both Xena and Hercules. However, as a director, his comedy episodes are not the best loved ones...

He is also well known in the Xenaverse for being Ted Raimi`s babysitter when Ted was a kid.

Bruce was signed up for the newest Renaissance Pictures production, in the title role of Jack of all Trades. Alas the show struggled with poor ratings and was axed after just one season.

Bruce directed the last ever episode of Hercules. He's also just published a book "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor".

Character Description
Autolycus, the self styled King of Thieves is a thief with a heart of gold, although he is not a particularly courageous thief. In The Royal Couple of Thieves, he helped Xena steal a powerful weapon. Autolycus helped Xena get he body back in The Quest, memorably dressing up as an Amazon. Not many of those with a beard and moustache! In Vanishing Act, we saw a darker side to Auto, as he set out to avenge his brother`s murder by killing a bad guy named Tarsus, however, once again he proved to be no thug as he was unable to go through with it.
