A remarkable rock musical episode, quite different from 'The Bitter Suite.' Xena and Gabrielle organise a musical contest to see who will win Terpsicord's lyre after Draco and the Amazons can't decide who owns it. Joxer's brother Jace is a camp disco queen who is a real hoot, and the musical numbers are mainly well known songs rather than originals. Gabrielle's go-go bikini should cause a few heart flutters! Takes a little getting used to, but a huge heap of fun!

Notes:
DO NOT change channels before the end!! Funniest bit is a VERY pregnant Lucy dancing in Gabrielle's white go-go bikini over the end credits. Apparently, it was the last day for some of the crew, and Lucy borrowed the costume from Renee's double - who is a bit bigger than Renee - to surprise them. Keep an eye on Ted Raimi's face!

The CD of songs from Lyre Lyre was released in May 2000 with songs from this episode and others. A song that was cut between Xena and Gabrielle is on it - a version of the Beatles 'We can Work it Out'. Susan Wood, who sang for Renee O`Connor on The Bitter Suite does again on this episode. Renee sings backings vocals on 'War', and does her own talk-singing on the townspeople`s song.
